The one true king

This January, we have started a new series of Bible talks on Sunday mornings - we're working through the book of 1 Samuel. Although the events recorded happened 3,000 years ago, they are surprisingly relevant to 21st-century Castlebar. We've been reminded that that God sees and understands the problems facing every one of his people, that God is at work quietly in the world all the time, whatever it looks like to us, and that we can't control God but we can relate to him through Jesus. And through everything is woven the need for a true leader, a king who will rule his people wisely and justly in line with what God wants. A king like ... Jesus.
